2. Grand Batam Mall - For International Brands & Great Food

If Nagoya Hill is all about bargains, Grand Batam Mall offers a more polished shopping experience.
Opened in 2019, it’s a place where anyone who enjoys shopping at Mid Valley Gardens or Pavilion will feel right at home. The difference? Dining and services often cost considerably less thanks to Indonesia’s favourable exchange rate.
Here, you can expect to find a line-up of international brands, including Batam’s largest Uniqlo, alongside H&M, Zara, Steve Madden and Sociolla - one of Indonesia’s biggest beauty retailers.
The dining options are just as tempting. Whether you’re craving Haidilao, Kintan Buffet, Marugame Udon or a leisurely coffee break at Tous Les Jours, you’ll find plenty of choices without paying Kuala Lumpur prices.

3. Mega Mall Batam Centre - For your first (or last) stop

Connected to Batam Centre Ferry Terminal via a covered walkway, Mega Mall is the first shopping mall many visitors see after arriving in Batam. There’s no need to book a Grab or travel across town - it’s just a short walk after clearing immigration.
Whether you’ve just arrived or your ferry home is still an hour away, Mega Mall makes the perfect pit stop. Wait out a sudden downpour with a coffee, pick up anything you forgot to pack, or squeeze in a little shopping before checking into your hotel.
On the way home, it’s also the perfect place for one last Batam haul. Grab a cup of Kopi Kenangan, pick up a box of J.CO Donuts for the journey, or browse Matahari Department Store for last-minute gifts and souvenirs before boarding your ferry.
4. BCS Mall - For Fashion Lovers

If your idea of shopping involves discovering affordable fashion rather than browsing luxury brands, Batam City Square (BCS) Mall should be high on your list.
Its many boutique stores sell trendy clothing, shoes and accessories inspired by Korean, Bangkok and Chinese fashion - all at prices that’ll make you regret not bringing a bigger suitcase. It’s entirely possible to put together a complete outfit for under RM50 if you don’t mind spending some time browsing.
BCS is also well known for its beauty services. Gel manicures, pedicures, eyelash extensions, hair treatments and other pampering sessions often cost significantly less than similar services back home.
5. One Batam Mall — For Cafés, Photos & Family Time

One of Batam’s newer malls, One Batam Mall takes the approach you see in many malls today - blending shopping with lifestyle.
Instead of focusing purely on retail, it combines indoor shopping with open-air promenades, cafés, and entertainment spaces, making it an enjoyable place to spend an entire afternoon even if shopping isn’t your main priority.
The outdoor café street is particularly popular, featuring aesthetic coffee shops, dessert cafés and regular live music while your kids will love the large indoor playgrounds and interactive play areas.
For a rainy or hot day where you’re looking to be indoors without feeling forced to shop, One Batam Mall is well worth adding to your itinerary.
