Planning a trip to Batam but not sure where to stay?

Whether you’re on a tight budget, looking for something comfortable without breaking the bank, or ready to splurge on five-star beachfront indulgence, Batam has it all. Better yet, you don’t always have to pay luxury prices to enjoy a luxury-style experience.

To give you a better idea, we’ve lined up a comparison of budget, mid-range, and luxury hotel experiences in Batam. This way, you’ll see what kind of room, amenities, and experience you can expect at different price points.

Keeping things equal, we’re using prices, photos, and listings from Booking.com. Of course, you can use any other booking service or app on your own bookings. We sorted by price to get the highest and lowest rates, and calculated a mid point for 2 guests.

Here’s what’s in store for you at the highest price points…

1. Luxury hotel & resort stays in Batam: RM900 and above per night

At this price point, you’re spoilt for choice between elegant city-centre hotels, private beachfront resorts, and even secluded island escapes.

For a city stay, there’s nowhere more central than Nagoya Hill Hotel, which puts you right at Nagoya Hill. An Executive Suite (RM1,084 per night) comes with an extra-large bed, executive lounge access, and your very own spa bath - perfect after a day of shopping or exploring.

For those who dream of waking up by the sea, Montigo Resort Nongsa brings the best of a private beach and a private pool. Its spacious bedroom villas (from RM1,200 per night) come with a private pool, balcony views, and direct private beach access. It’s the ultimate mix of tropical paradise and modern comfort.

Although it’s not what most people consider a Batam holiday, Pulau Nirup is a private island retreat for travellers who want exclusivity. Here, you’ll find several exclusive resorts such as The Westin Nirup Island Resort and Spa. Rooms start from RM1,500 per night, with panoramic ocean views and full resort facilities

2. Midrange hotel stays in Batam: RM120 - RM300 per night

Mid-tier hotels strike the sweet spot: comfortable stays, above-average amenities, and central locations… all without stretching your budget.

In the upper midrange, hotels like Santika Hotel Batam offer comfortable lodging and above average amenities and facilities. For RM264 per night, a Superior Queen Room gives you a private balcony overlooking the city, plush bedding, and access to a full range of well-maintained facilities.

For a quirkier experience, the Pacific Palace Hotel is one that’s modelled after a cruise ship! It also doubles as an entertainment hub; with karaoke rooms, a nightclub, and full hotel amenities. A standard Deluxe Twin Room costs RM187 per night - not inclusive of a karaoke session, unfortunately.

On the more affordable side, hotels like Vivotel Hotel offer simple but clean and comfortable accommodation for about RM109 - RM150 per night, or small studio rooms for RM109 per night. While it doesn’t come with facilities like a pool or gym, it’s a solid option if you just need a comfy and inviting base in the city.

Budget hotel stays in Batam: Under RM100 per night

If all you need is a room to sleep and shower in, then budget hotel rooms are your best bang for buck.

At just RM10 per night, this Budget Double Room at Hotel O Rani is as no-frills as it gets - a bed, ensuite bathroom, and little else. No air-conditioning, no lift… but it’s unbeatable if you’re really rationing your Ringgit.

For a little more, this Hotel 01 Batam is a budget gem. At RM84 per night, you get air-conditioning, a pool (complete with dolphin statues!), and rooms that look more expensive than they are. It’s budget accommodation with surprising flair.
