One Piece fans will get the reference. But even if One Piece isn’t your thing, Rollmance Dawn pays tribute to all things anime.

The cafe is decorated with figurines and memorabilia from anime classics like Dragon Ball, and Pokemon, to newer favourites like Spy Family and Jujutsu Kaisen. The cafe is best for kids of reading age, since they can browse through manga.

Rollmance Dawn’s menu is geared towards drinks, desserts and pastries - more like a place where you can relax instead of eat-and-go. If you have more time to spare, you can spend the day there just reading manga or playing a One Piece-themed game of Monopoly.

Walking into Cafe Jufei brings back memories of visiting grandma. To start with, this is the only cafe on the list that requires you to take off your shoes before you enter!

Cafe Jufei recreates the warmth of a cosy 1970’s Malaysian home, with wood-and-rattan furniture and loads of trinkets on the walls and shelves.

Like any Malaysian home back in the day, it’s personal and unpretentious. Your drink may be served in a regular glass or in those free coffeeshop ones with brand logos on them - you can even sit on the floor if you want.

Meanwhile, the food retains the personal vibes with a modern twist, with freshly baked breads and pastries and the owner’s personal blend of coffee.

Amongst the vinyl cantopop records and cassettes, and old books and toys; Cafe Jufei is both a time capsule and a bubble of tranquillity from the bustling heart of the city.

Whether with the heart put into the food or touching your heartstrings, Cafe Jufei meets far more than your bare(foot) necessities.
